This training is all about how to create and submit videos to online video sharing sites. The goal is to get people to watch our videos (the videos you or I create) and then get them to come to our website.
One of the things to always keep in mind is that if we don't create high quality videos, or, videos that provide good content to people, they won't come to our website. So, while we don't have to have professionally done videos, they do need to make sense, and give a user a reason to come to our site. Don't just put garbage videos out there.
Your first step is to listen to the introduction audio.
Next, watch these 4 videos about how to create videos:
- Creating a video using PPT (PowerPoint) - details how to create a video based on a script. You don't need to have any voiceover on the video, because all the information is in writing in the powerpoint presentation (or, in the google docs presentation). Here's the example script you can use. This script is very good, but will also create videos that are about 2 minutes long if followed exactly. Try to cut it down and make 30 second videos. You can get camstudio here: http://www.camstudio.org. In this video I used google docs to create the presentation: http://docs.google.com
- Creating videos using Animoto - Animoto will create a video for you from pictures. Very easy to do. Here are instructions for how to add our url to the bottom of the video using windows movie maker: http://www.ehow.com/how_2043597_add-titles-text-overlays-microsoft.html. If you don't already have windows movie maker, you can get it here: http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/moviemaker2.mspx. You should learn to use windows movie maker or something like it. WMM is free, and pretty good.
- Creating videos from an article - you can easily create a video by reading an article and having a simple power point presentation behind it. I've also had someone use this in conjunction with animoto, where they created the audio of them reading the article, and then made an animoto video using their article audio.
- Creating a video of you sharing our website - this is an example of me doing this on my website. Just try to sound interesting on the site, and try not to make it sound like an ad. You need to sound like a third party here who actually thinks our website is providing a great service to people. You should always talk about the most interesting part of the site, the piece that draws the most visitors. You don't have to put yourself in this video. I did it with Camtasia Studio, which automatically recorded my webcam and inserted it into the video. You can do it with just you capturing your screen with camstudio. You can also do this type of video without capturing your screen at all. You can record yourself with a webcam or just a digital camera and make a video of you talking about the website.
- Another option is for you to take the script from #1 and record yourself talking through a script like that. You can use a digital camera or a camcorder or a webcam and record yourself talking through the script. Again, don't sound like an advertisement. This type of video is very simple to create and it's ok if your english isn't the best, because you really are a third party talking about someone elses product or service.

There's all kinds of information out there about this. I would like you to get good at it. Get good at linking videos together so our videos show up next to each other in the "related" videos section of YouTube.
Also, keep track of the views of our videos and let me know how they're doing. I want to know which videos work the best, which ones get traffic and which ones don't.
Also, remember to link to our videos from the websites in our mini-net. That will definitely help them show up in the google search results.
